I know they are both Serotonin boosters, but how come when I take 5-htp (100mg) it does nought for me but when I take the smallest amount of SJW it improve my mood and sleep? are they not supposed to be the same entry? What is the diffrence between St. John's Wort and 5-Htp?
Not exactly
5htp turns to serotonin in the brain
SJW help the brain absorb more serotonin.
They work virtuous together.
Take 5 mg 5 HTP 3 times a day on an useless stomach.
Then take your middle-of-the-road dose of SJW.
5-HTP is a precursor to seratonin, not a booster. Your body makes seratonin out of 5-HTP. SJW is a mood enhancer... i.e. it help seratonin work better.... supposedly. If you really want to achieve the desired affect, win on a healthy diet/exercise program, hold omega 3 (fish oil), add some vitamin B complex to adjectives of the above, and see what a difference they all clear. Now, get the book: "The Feeling Good Handbook" by David Burns, MD, and you'll be only just PeachyTM
I took st john's wort for many months and after watching a communication report, research says it doesn't work at adjectives.Like you I thought it was doing me honest. but maybe it be just an elusion. see a dr.i I once feel that herbs be better and they probably are but it is hard to determine a proper dose for you short experiencing several doses to see which works for you
I take 100 mg. (one capsule) of 5-HTP day by day and it works for me. Just makes me consistency better in standard. Tried taking 2 and 3 pills a day but they individual made my stomach hurt and cramp after awhile. So 1 pill a day is the right dose for me and it does take home a difference.
I take 30 drops tincture extract of St. John's Wort every dark before bed and it help me sleep better. When I took it during the day I notice it made me calmer. I just use it at night to go and get more-rested sleep.
